The audit

One day, one fixed price, and you’ll know exactly where AI fits.

Most people have a feeling AI could help. Far fewer know where to start, or which bits are actually worth the bother. That is the whole job of the audit — to answer it properly, in plain English, before anybody spends money building anything.

The day itself

We look at how the week actually goes.

Not how it is meant to go on paper. A day with you and whoever else does the work, and it is a conversation rather than an inspection.

01

We watch the work

The jobs that come round again and again, and what each one really takes.

02

We follow the paper

Where things get typed twice, waited on, or chased.

03

We check your software

Often something you already pay for does far more than anyone realised.

04

We put numbers on it

Rough hours and rough cost, so the shortlist sorts itself out.

05

We write it down

A short plan you could hand to anybody — including somebody who isn’t us.

What lands on your desk

A report you can actually do something with.

Short, in plain English, and written so it is still useful in six months.

The shortlist
The two or three jobs worth handing to AI, each with a rough number against it — hours it would give back, and what it would cost to build. Sequenced so you can start with the easiest one and see it work.
The leave-alone list
A straight note of everything we think should stay exactly as it is, and why. People tell us this is the most useful page in the report.
What you already have
Where the software you already pay for would do the job perfectly well, so you are not buying the same thing twice.
A written AI policy
If your business is regulated, or you simply want something to show anyone who asks, we write it as part of the audit rather than selling it back to you afterwards.
A follow-up call
Four weeks later, once you have had a go at the easy one. Included, not extra.
The price

One number, agreed before we start.

No hourly rate, no meter running, and nothing bigger arriving afterwards.

Everything that is in it

  • A day spent looking at how the work really flows
  • The two or three jobs worth handing over, with a number against each
  • A straight note of what to leave well alone
  • A short plan in plain English, easiest win first
  • A written AI policy if you need one
  • A follow-up call four weeks later

Whatever comes out of it is yours to keep — and yours to hand to somebody else to build if you would rather. If the honest answer is that AI would not move the needle for you, that is what the report will say.

We will tell you whether the audit is worth your money before you spend any of it.

Before you book

The things people usually ask.

How long is it
A day, or two half days if that suits the diary better. The report follows within a week.
What do we prepare
Nothing at all. A normal week is exactly what we want to see — a tidied-up version of it would tell us less.
Do we have to build anything after
No. The audit stands on its own, plenty of what comes out of it needs no help from us, and there is nothing to sign at the end.
Is our information safe
Nothing leaves with us that does not need to, nothing goes near a free public AI tool, and we will sign whatever your business needs us to sign before we start.
Where do you go
Anywhere in Scotland, in person. Online works perfectly well too if that is easier.

Start with a chat, not a commitment.

Twenty minutes on the phone, free, and no obligation at the end of it. We will tell you honestly whether the audit is worth your money — and if it is not, what we would do instead.
